Xeroxed Deck by Michael Ammar
You would be surprised by the powerful punch this effect delivers! The reaction and impact you will receive is out of all proportion when compared to the simplicity of the method.
Actually, I performed this for quite a while before I began to realize that the audience was interpreting this effect in an entirely different way than I thought they would. While I was looking at this as a simple prediction of a selected card, because of the way the paper was wrapped around the deck, laymen were seeing something else.
Because of the way I was showing the wrapped deck all around, and of how I placed the deck onto the table to unwrap it, the audience felt as if they had seen every part of both sides of the paper. Which means they believed the entire back side was nothing but upside down cards. So when you ultimately turn it over to reveal one face up card among all the face down xeroxed cards, laymen think the paper somehow changed to reflect their selection!
So not only are they blown away by the effect, they love being able to keep the xeroxed page as a magical souvenir!
The presentation gives you a conversational way to lead into the effect, and the only procedure is to have the spectator cut the deck. Everything seems as far as possible, which makes the end revelation a real surprise.
Another advantage of this effect, is that by giving them the paper at the end, you have the perfect opportunity to give them your contact information, or the name of the company you represent, or the restaurant you’re performing at and so on. This is a bread and butter effect for a Trade Show performer!
Finally, you, as the performer, receive one more hidden bonus when you perform this effect, because it allows you to give yourself a completely stacked deck right in the middle of a performance!
Unfortunately, we can’t provide you with a photocopied template to work from, but it’s really easy to make yourself a master copy which you can use to create as many copies as you want for just pennies!
